The Edit Toolbar
The buttons in the edit toolbar allow to choose different working modes for the map display. At any give point in time, can have only one mode active.
Modes

- Not all modes are visible in normal JOSM user mode, however you can always customize the toolbar to your needs.
- The whole left panel visibility can be toggled on and off in the main menu view.
- There might be more buttons depending on the loaded plugins.
- The button group below the map modes affect the display of dialog windows. These are described under Toggle Dialogs.
