Windows
To activate a window
- click on its icon on the lower left toggle (explained in Help#JOSMinterfaceoverview)
- through the main menu "windows" (this page)
- by it's shortcut (see table below)
Window pinning
- To pin a window: press ordinary close button
- To unpin a window: press pin icon (see section below)
Header buttons for each window when it's pinned
- The
black, downheaded arrow head rolls the dialog up and the
black, rightheaded arrow head respectively rolls it out.
- The
eye symbol switches dynamic buttons on and off.
- The
pin icon unpins the dialog (e.g. opens it in a separate window). Note: non-standard icons will disappear in this mode
- The
cross closes the dialog.

- There might be more buttons depending on the loaded plugins.
- Not all toggle dialogs are visible by default, however you can always customize the panel to your needs.
- The whole left panel visibility can be toggled on and off in the main menu view.
- The button group above the toggle dialogs are the different map modes. These are described under Edit toolbar.
