Description
hello,
is it possible to add the function of merging two closed ways if they are under each other or if they cross each other? Use mainly in buildings but maybe in other cases as well..
- when double-clicking on a newer way, the merge would occur and the tags and geometry of the newer way would be
- if a new way will be drawn without tags, then of course the original tags will be used, but the new geometry will be
...in our country there are many buildings with bad geometry, such a feature would be very helpful

Thanks for the tips, I know these plugins...when you fix many buildings that have tag building=yes and source=QWERT and I want building=detached and source=TREWQ, the conflict window keeps popping up and when you have to keep confirming it, it gets tiresome and the taste is lost.

Draw the way first, without tags. Then use Replace Geometry, finally modify the tags, possibly selecting multiple objects with the same attributes to do it in one step.

this may seem like a good solution to you, maybe for occasional drawing, but if you work a lot with buildings and addresses, my solution would be much better
more efficient...plus where I don't need to replace the geometry, I'd have to add tags for the building, so it is better to add the tag automatically when drawing a new building

I tried this plugin again...it seems that it could work, I remembered that in the past I rejected it because I couldn't configure something...I have a problem with the conflict window, it keeps popping up even if I have checked "Overwrite tags without confirmation...can anyone advise me?

You need to add the keys which should be overridden without confirmation in the last box, e.g. building source
in your example.

Fantastic...Thanks skyper, also to others..I think this way could work and we can probably close this ticket

Is there any way or plugin to import a new building that is in a different layer in a prepared dataset, so that I don't have to switch between layers all the time? Too bad conflation can't do this when working between two layers...importing buildings at once is complicated because they are distributed in different areas
What you need is probably "Replace Geometry" from the UtilsPlugin2 Plugin, see wiki:/Help/Plugin/UtilsPlugin2 and https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/utilsplugin2
