Confirmed for Windows 11 22H2
But Windows 10 is OK.

The issue arose from Windows 8.1, just to reiterate

comment:4 by stoecker, 3 years ago

You already have 18543 installed, so it wont install again. There is no 18565 yet, as there was an issue in the build process. Try again when 18565 is available.

But when I now start JOSM is says "You should update".
How do I know when a new version is available?

Awesome. Do we know what happened? I'm not seeing anything in GH Actions that would have indicated a failure.

Aside: It looks like it should now be available (see https://github.com/JOSM/josm/releases/tag/18565-tested ).

This is the JOSM screenshot from this afternoon; there is a build 18565 advertised as stable.

Thank you, this version 18565 does work.

Yes, I went through the release process for r18565 last Friday (see wiki:TestedVersion?version=195 ). Everything went well except for the Windows installers, which I didn't find out about until today. stoecker triggered a rerun (which I cannot do, thank stoecker for doing that). Best guess: something happened and the builds weren't actually uploaded but the job still succeeded, or something else came along after the Windows installers were uploaded and made a new release.

Note that the builds succeeded on Friday (see https://github.com/JOSM/josm/actions/runs/3153870355/attempts/1 ), so I didn't get notified that something went wrong.

On the JOSM wiki start page WikiStart where the download links are you see in brackets the version you download. Also the page version shows the current version.

Seems at least one of the actions has a non-ASCII comment. The perl XML decoder can't handle Unicode input. I fixed it, so it gets UTF-8 instead.
