To troubleshoot os-specific problems like #13784 / #20143 logs are definitevely useful but sometimes difficult to obtain. Sometimes not possible at all, as macOS native applications redirect their standard output to /dev/null since Moutain Lion...

So JNA plugin should be able to copy JOSM logs to native log system on Windows and macOS:
