Description
Something to think about and discuss.
It's not the first time that I am seeing somebody saying "what does this message means? what do I do with this warning? what is wrong with the data?" when validating something with JOSM and not understanding the message.
Could we have some kind of infrastructure where we could document each validator message, with explanations, examples, etc?
Some kind of wiki maybe.
It should allow to have the details/explanations in multiple languages and also support explanations for the other rules from http://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Rules
The validator window could have a More info button, which would open a window with the explanations for that specific message; it could also allow the user to open it in a web browser, if he likes.

I think this is a good idea. A link to some place that has images/gifs and an explanation, plus possible solutions

You think increasing the priority will change the fact that nobody does update the Wiki?

I never said that. I just consider this ticket to be a major enhancement worth to invest some of my time (including updating the wiki).

Closed as duplicate of #3841.
There are lists at Help/Preferences/Validator and at osmwiki:JOSM/Validator, but both are heavily outdated and incomplete.
