Description

Hi,

I'm unable to type in Kannada (kn) using ibus on josm-latest package.
Is there any workaround?

Works for me (IBus 1.4.1, Ubuntu 12.10). Try to change the shortcuts for enabling ibus (e.g. to Ctrl+Shift+F7). It seems Java swallows the default shortcuts and you cannot select input method by clicking on the icon and choosing from the drop down.

@bastiK I'm trying to switch to kn-itrans , tried changing the shortcut keys as well. Is there any way to change the input method on JOSM?

Yes, on my system it works like in any other application, e.g. gedit. Please try other Java applications. If it doesn't work there either, it's definitely not a JOSM bug. There is no and will not be any reimplementation of input methods specially for JOSM.
