Unexpected exception

I just downloaded JOSM on my iMac and ran it from my Downloads folder. I downloaded the validator and wmsplugin plugins and put them in ~/.josm/plugins. I ran JOSM and opened preferences. Clicked plugins. Clicked the tick-box next to each plugin and said yes when it asked if I wanted to download the latest version. Closed preferences and it said "error downloading". I then re-opened preferences and got this exception.
