Uploading on macOS prior to authentication caused Exception

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I was not logged in on openstreetmap.org, downloaded JOSM for macOS, tried to upload some changes within JOSM. JOSM launched the "Obtain authentication to OSM servers", crashed, reported an Exception, and offered to report bug.
