Description
Hi All,
Happy Morning!
I am using JOSM 19307 version, while doing regular mapping i added landuse tag on a node, and JOSM throughs the validation error i.e., "landuse construction on a node, should be drawn as an area"
But as per OSM wiki we can use landuse tag on a node as well as on polygon also (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:landuse)
Requesting to look into the issue and do the needful
Thanking You

Well according to taginfo the number of use on nodes is dropping the last ten years. I took a look at random examples and many of them are tagging mistakes and landuse=* is not useful at all. Most of the time when landuse=* seems appropriate the area could be easily approximated and the data would benefit.
Regarding the wiki, I suspect that the usage on nodes is an old relict of the days when aerial images were bad or non-existent.

It is also not mentioned in the text. I think this is a bug in the wiki. Never heard of landuses on nodes, also doesn't make much sense.
While addresses or buildings are small objects, what should a landuse nodes refer to. Some random undefined unknown area?

I agree that this is a wiki issue and should be fixed. I see no point adding landuse=* to single nodes. Land use (literally) is not a point like feature.

Attached the screen shot in JOSM and also added the screenshot of landuse page of osm wiki
