#19824 new defect

Advanced Preferences could not export modified values

Reported by: mdk Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Core Version:
Keywords: template_report Cc:

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Modify a value in Advanced Preferences
  2. Export the modified value (with green background)
  3. Look into the export file

What is the expected result?

The actual (modified) value is written to the export file.

What happens instead?

The original value is in the export file, or the export file didn't contain the preference item when the original value was the default value (see #19823).

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if possible.

Normally when I'm in an editor and "Save" or "Export" the contend I expact that the current contend is written. But in Advanced Preferences the unmodified contend is written.

When I want to export modified settings in JOSM I first need to close the editor with "OK" and store the modifications in the internal model. The I have to reopen the editor and now I can export the modifications. But this is not very intuitive - in my oppinion.

Think there is a missing save option in general for preferences.
