Yep, it is more common to contact people through social medias rather than fax :)

Not sure however how should the default list look like: while Facebook is king in the US, it is a lot less used in Russia compared to Vkontakte, which is in turn not used outside of Russian-speaking countries.

So I guess we would need location-aware entries, similar to our localized mapcss validation rules?

I don't know about the whole world, but in Hungary (and many other countries AFAIK) we simply use Facebook beyond phone, website and email. Honestly, many HU companies don't even have a Website just a Facebook!

So I'd prefer not to use an overcomplicated "social networks AND IMs" window for just this.

I agree with OP, "mobile" needed too. I added many companies with two ";" separated phone numbers and one was landline other was mobile. Didn't even notice "mobile" should be another field :-(
