Description
the pt_assistant layer keeps the routes highlighted until you delete it. while routes are highlighted it could be useful to have a way to directly open them in the relation editor without selecting them again.

the shortcut for the button is shift+R
Ah, shortcuts :) This is not so easy to add shortcuts for new stuff as almost every combination is already used (remember we have more than 100 plugins!).
Before choosing a shortcut, you may have a look to DevelopersGuide/ShortcutsList.
The red entries are conflicts between plugins. In a perfect world, we should not have conflicts, but it's difficult. You will see that Shift-R is in conflict with a very popular plugin (utilsplugin2), so it would be great to change it: Ctrl-R and Ctrl-Shift-R are available, for example.

When I was looking for a free shortcut I was actually wondering whether there was a sort of repository of all the used ones. My bad since I didn't read carefully enough the developer guide! Thanks again for the tip ;)
Is there a faster way to communicate with you whenever I have to ask small questions like this one or other good practice while developing on JOSM? Something like the josm irc channel or osm-dev?

This single letter shortcuts will sooner or later be reused by JOSM core. We don't free such shortcuts to loose them to plugins. ;-)
