#10458 closed defect (fixed)

OS X: Copy and Paste between layers doesn't work (focus issue with Java 8)

Reported by: bitnapper Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone: 14.09
Component: Core Version:
Keywords: macosx java8 focus Cc: bastiK

Description

Copying a node or a structure from one layer and paste it into another doesn't work as it used to be. It seems to work when copying a node and then pasing its tags. After that I can also paste the whole node but not before.

we didn't change anything to the copy function recently. Please add more info (sample .osm file showing the problem, your status report, last version number of JOSM which worked as you expected). Thanks.

Current Version is 7480 and the last one worked fine. But I think I've identified the problem.

In the last version I could select a POI, copy (ctrl+c) it, select the other layer and paste (ctrl+v) it. In the new version the focus is not automatically in the map pane but on the layer pane. So I have to click in the map pane before pasting the poi which is one step more than in the old version. Would be nice to have the old behavior again because when merging plenty object this way one step more is a lot.

Still works for me, can you please post the first three blocks of your status report?

Looks like the fix of #5678 in r3688 may cause this bug.

Resolution: fixed
Status: newclosed

In 7539/josm:

fix #5957, fix #10458, see #10455: fix various focus/shortcuts issues:

  • proper use of "Command" modifier on OS X instead of "Ctrl"
  • fix related focus issue on OS X in layer list dialog (copy/paste between layers not working)
  • fix non-working commands after a layer selection: Ctrl-A, Tab, Ctrl-Down/Up/Left/Right, F8
  • fix impossibility to use 'A', 'S' or 'X' keys in relation filter or when renaming layer
