Like many softwares, I want to have the possibility to go to File/Print
Select : display or select a window to print
Choose the print configuration size/orientation/quality
And print.
Layers set as visible will be printed.

Walking-papers.org depends on rendering state of layers.
Sometimes it cannot wait for several weeks to catch up.
Printing just an outline of selected layer (or all layers, a checkbox for that) would be very useful, for mapping parties and for navigation.
Especially because one can download, rotate and print. You cannot rotate raster in walking-papers.

I released a print plugin last weekend. It adds a print button to the File menu. It fills a printed page with the current view. Some temporary adjustments are made to zoom and preferences in order to get a nice result.

The print plugin doesn't print the standard black background. But it will print white text white on white background ;-) Try printing to a file for the moment if you want to preview your document. Advanced options will take some time. And it works quite nice at the moment.
As printing works, this bug could be closed IMHO, and enhancements to the print plugin would be dealt with in separate tickets. Otherwise the ticket summary is no longer correct.

The print plugin now has a dialog with preview. So this is fixed, finally.
What exactly would you like to see printed? All the current downloaded data? All visible layers? Including WMS layers as background?
What#s you use-case for a printout? Maybe www.walking-papers.org will do the trick for you.
