#9143 closed defect (fixed)

crossing ways reported for highway=proposed

Reported by: mkoniecz Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone: 13.11
Component: Core validator Version:
Keywords: Cc:

Description

New highway is likely to not be connected to various existing footways and highways existing on a planned route. Especially as road important enough to be marked even in phase of plans is likely to be a big construction obliterating existing paths and roads.

I think that this should not be reported.

fix #9142, fix #9143 - Ignore highway=proposed in CrossingWays validator test

Replying to skyper:

I don't want to support this tag.

railway=razed makes no sense, OSM is not supposed to contain historical data.

highway=proposed is borderline (I would be against adding it to presets, in ideal worlds it would not be used but removing instances of it from map would end in flamewar).

Well, a discussion on talk-de@osm did lead to a different point of few, and why do we have end_date=* ?

"talk-de" - maybe german community have their own weird rules. I would delete any absurd stuff like this in my region.
