My attempt to upload a patch to ticket #8809 meets every time with a timeout.

Actually you uploaded the patch 3 times. Either an error on your side or very large server load on our side. Some robots are very aggressive and this combined with an apache memory leak sometimes kills the server nearly.
I'll see if we can make the apache restart more clever than simple once a day to prevent these memory problems.
Best would be to find the leak, but I don't know anymore I can do.

I had had a similar situation a month ago. It is a strange situation as you do not know if your upload did work or not and you can not check cause you have to wait for the server.
(The attachment upload finally "took" after spinning for over 30 minutes).
