Description
Per wiki:
The landuse=reservoir tag "deprecated", the new scheme is natural=water + water=reservoir. This new scheme was introduced by water details proposal [...]
Old tag landuse=reservoir should be replaced with these two:
natural=water water=reservoir

water=intermittent and water=tidal are imported values, briefly described in this proposal: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Proposed_features/Water_cover I believe it's not active (and never has been), and no one should use those tag values.
The correct way to map an intermittent lake is natural=water + water=lake + intermittent=yes.

JOSM has preset and mappaint support for the natural=water + water=* tagging schema.
For landuse=reservoir the wiki page states now, that it is not deprecated.
So wontfix for now.

Replying to Debeet:
This is wrong.
Landuse=reservoirwas never deprecated. It is even unclear if it is the same aswater=reservoiras it might define the whole area with infrastructure and not only the water part.You can use both tags at the same time and you are welcome to create and publish a preset but maybe you should solve a problem with
water=*first as it has two different (exclusive) uses or does following fit ?
