Description ¶
I'm attempting to merge address nodes into building outline. (One building, one address) If I use the click and drag to draw a rectangle to select both the address and the building outline, the following dialog appears: This tools replaces geometry of one object with another, and so requires exactly two objects to be selected. That is exactly what the rectangle selection does. Both are highlighted.
If I use the shift click on both objects, Replace Geometry works perfectly.
I'd like to be able to use the click and drag method since it is normally much easier. Of course we also need the shift click when shift click won't work. I'm assuming this is a defect and not an enhancement request.

I didn't realize that the click and drag was different than clicking on the polygon way. I even had to prove it for myself.

The conflation plugin doesn't work. I have been in contact with Josh Doe, the author. We were trying to use it for a different purpose, importing addresses, but ran into an error. He has a fix but I haven't been able to successfully use it yet.

Strange, trying your selection method all corner nodes of the building are selected, too. Are you sure that you had only selected two objects.
Anyway, did you have a look at the "conflation plugin". Might be even more suitable for your task.
