I assume, you want to translate the metadata. Currently, prefixing the keys with the language code is supported (cf. Styles/Lit).

No, I want to translate the wiki page. More and more style and preset page include information outside the code block.
I know how to translate within the code.

Styles and Presets follow the same structure. So translation means:

  • Add TranslatedPagesMacro.
  • Create a translated page like for all the other pages (as its namespace is outside of the english one, it wont trigger a style request)
  • Skip the XML block in the style and simply add an "see English original for code" comment.

Thanks.
Documentation needs update. Another issue is to better point to the special upload comments for pictures as I had to contact some editors to add the (NOZIP) option.

Is it OK to use internal or even interwiki links (e.g. wiki:De:Styles/* or osmwiki:*) as value of link in the meta data ?

Did try it with wiki:Styles/Coloured_buildings and at least this wiki works with it but I fear I might have broken something. At least in opposite to revision the value of link is not replace with a real value on the styles' wiki pages.

No. Only [[revision]] and [[date]] are allowed there.
