#5958 closed defect (fixed)

Renaming layers erratic

Reported by: anonymous Owned by: team
Priority: normal Milestone:
Component: Core Version: tested
Keywords: layers focus Cc:

Description

Renaming layers is sometimes too eager.

Steps to reproduce:

  • open a gpx layer, make sure you don't have a data layer
  • make select mode active, if it isn't - hit 's' if the button is inactive
  • double click layer to rename it
  • clicking on the draw canvas doesn't end renaming, unless you get something selected - which you can't, since there's no data layer available
  • hit '+' or '-' to zoom - unwanted letters in the layer name

This can get annoying when you're using editgpx to clean up a large number of gpx-files before uploading and can't use the scroll wheel for zooming.

normally you would finish renaming with enter of esc. Now it also works if it looses focus.

Still erratic behaviour with layer names. After one layer name has been in edit mode, subsequent keystrokes like - or + for zooming around in map view end up also in name of currently selected layer. Not especially connected to gpx-layer, normal data layers do it, too.
