Description
When I try to make a multipolygon I encounter 2 errors:
- It doesn't let me create a multipolygon with one way only (I wanted to do this and later split it up so I have both segments in the relation), there is an alert: must select at least 2 ways.
- I split it (=highway-area) up and got the error: multipolygons can only have closed ways (which is not true any more).
The thing I wanted to do is create a multipolygon of an area (because I'm making a route and want only part of this area in my route-relation) and copy the tags to the relation. Is there another way to copy tags from a way to a relation? This would also solve the issue (besides that the messages above are wrong according to actual definitions).

The multipolygon plugin can now create multipolygon with outer and inner members consisting of multiple ways together forming a closed line.
It also now also create multipoly from only one way (in that case the way will be the outer way)

I am somewhat confused.
Multipolygon plugin does indeed show message when trying to create multipolygon from just one way. However it did not copy tags from outer way when creating multipolygon from two closed ways. I did not found a setting in preferences to enable this.
There is another plugin - Multipoly-convert, which does move tags from a way to relation it creates. It seems to create one relation for each selected way.
Maybe you mixed up these two plugins?
Regarding copying tags from way to relation - Paste Tags worked for me:
