download URL box change not noticed

When I paste a URL into the download window's "URL from www.openstreetmap.org" box (from a permalink at informationfreeway.org for example), it isn't always noticed. I.e. the contents of the min/max lat/lon boxes don't change, until I manually change something in the URL in box. If I don't change anything and just hit OK after pasting the URL, the download viewport (the yellow box) changes to cover the whole world and nothing is downloaded. I'm using Fedora Linux with Gnome desktop, Sun Java 1.6.0_02-b05.
