Osmarender installs fine (I think I needed to download it manually), but when I click the osmarender menu item I get an exception, I'm not sure why...

To be honest, you'd be lucky to get the thing to render even if Firefox did open up. Also, unless you like everything slowing down for about 10 minutes, don't do this.
