Description
Hey, we're doing a lot of work on OSM in Georgia, and there's a big problem with Georgian characters when running JOSM on windows. Switching between languages I have had no problem with Arabic or Russian, but Georgian specifically does not work. It comes out as empty boxes. However there is no problem when running JOSM under Linux. Is this a problem with JOSM or with Java? Or with Windows?

The same problem occurs, I now find, on some installations of Linux. And some brief search in the Sun Java forums showed that this is a problem that was raised with Java previously. You're right, there's probably a text encoding problem, but it seems to be an issue with Java? See http://www.sapikhvno.org/viewtopic.php?p=56721&sid=1f01b547a044baad153c794f605b2966

Usually these boxes are an indicator for wrong font installation settings. So it's probably an Windows installation issue. In any case it is no JOSM issue.
