Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Try to add a WMTS capabilities XML containing any non-square tiles

What is the expected result?

maybe show an information message that not every tileset in this capability map is compatible with JOSM, but accept those that are

What happens instead?

you have found a bug error message

The capabilities file in the submission is the one used by Copernicus Dataspace, which is the preferred way to use Sentinel-2 imagery in JOSM, so it's not some obscure WMTS service.

If you add it as a WMS layer it will work though:
