​taginfo reports this values is being supported in preset - while it either is better to leave it empty or support the key without placeholder value.

I tried and from what I see fixed presets in Presets/CampingForOverlanders and in Presets/OSMRookie but here I am not entirely sure how to fix it

+1, for using paved, unpaved or maybe mixed but unspecified adds no value and it is better to not add surface=* in this case. Similar is likely true for practicability=unspecified

Thanks for looking at these quite old external presets. You changes are good. I often wonder if these presets are used at all but we do not have any data about preset usage.
