Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Open JOSM
  2. Klick on Datei/Öffen (i.e. File/open)

What is the expected result?

I planed to select the directory with sample.osm in it

What happens instead?

The Errorwindow poped up. and a Window to select files. (welches nicht sonderlich hilfreich war, da ich dem Verzeichnisbaum nicht weit genug runter kam. nur bis /home/user ich wollte aber zu /home/user/downloads) It wasn`t possible to reach /home/user/downloads

sound like the snap package is used which has more problems, see #22887.
You might want to try our ubuntu packages.
