Possibility to move way segments

Currenty there is only the possibility to move way as whole. It should be possible to move way segments only.

I think moving a segment should be default action when starting drag outside a node (and perhaps move entire way when pressing shift or ctrl or something like that...), since accidentally moved ways are one of the most annoying errors made while editing (even worse if somebody does not notice it and uploads such moved ways)

Now there are multiple ways to achieve it if I understand correctly. Can you please check if it can be closed?

I didn't need that recently. At least for this ticket it would be useful when at least one of the methods is referenced here.

Select nodes from a way and drag them, or use Ctrl+X (area selection tool?) to move a single segment. The latter has multiple modes depending on Shift/Ctrl/Alt combination.

No. These methods already existed when I wrote that ticket. That are workarounds.

It depends what you have in mind. Do you want to select single or multiple segments or do you search for a short way to select the nodes?

I guess I would select the two outside nodes (and the way) and use Alt+Shift*E from ultisplugin2. Then I have most of the tools for modifications like rotating, scaling, align in line and more available, additional to the simple moving of the bunch of nodes.

For curves "Circle arc" Ctrl+C from utilsplugin2 is sometimes handy.
For a single segment extruder is sometimes the best choice.

Hmm, actually after rethinking again I'm not sure how an improvement could look like.
