Description
Could the second last line of default Overpass queries be (._;>;<;); please, i.e. an extra <; (recurse-up) ?
It provides a more robust download which helps avoiding the majority of conflicts in subsequent uploading.
I know that I may reuse a saved query, but it is easy to forget, and I think the above modification is better for a casual user.

An option would be great. Currently I have to remember adding <; for every single query.

I would not want that behaviour, but we might use a user preference for this.
My experience is that a timeout is much more likely unless you use very specific queries.
For bbox downloads with an empty query it should make no difference as far as I know.
