New version not downloading properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. UPDATE prompt clicked
2. Defaults to JOSM download page, I then choose windows
3. When the file is downloaded, during the instal the machine switches off the instal

What is the expected result?

I don't understand your problem. If you're not at ease with English language, please describe your problem in your language, we will translate. A screenshot might help, too.

I guess, this is a duplicate of #21307 and a problem with java 8.

Please, try to uninstall the old josm package first and then install the new version.

I tried this, I took away JOSM, I restored the Java to the latest version. Now when JOSM opens another iteration called "HW console" opens with it. None of my plugins work anymore
