Well, I created a new Data-Layer, it contains just one Node. This node is tagged. When I select this layer and perform "Zoom to layer extents", nothing happens. Usually when I select a layer with more data (ways and nodes) and zoom to extents, it is working.

I am using the latest version of JOSM.

JOSM adds a boundary around the node, so you see a larger area. Have a look at the zoom level and you see zooming works.

If this is not your problem, reopen and attach your preferences file as zip (strip private information first).

yes, I have another problem. The zoom-mechanism is working but not correctly, it is zooming to the maximum (in my system scale shows 508km when slider is on 0) and I see the white earth bounds.

prefs attached.

Btw. (OT here): I found these 2 lines in prefs which indicate a error for / and \ mixing:

I have more info: it is not working for 1 single node, but 2 nodes and more is working. This should help finding the problem.
