Description

Consider WMS "endpoint" type imagery such as https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Maps/Norway#NorwayOrthophotohistoric.

This WMS contains a large number of layers, but it is difficult to discover which layers cover a specific area, even with layer names displayed. It would be helpful if the layer selection window could highlight the layers which are available for the current viewable area in JOSM. GetCapabilities provides the available coverage area per layer.
