Description
< and > operations in JOSM filters currently appear to do straightforward text comparisons.
i suggest that when comparing tags that are supposed to contain dates in ISO format, that they be handled in this manner.
e.g., if i have start_date=1824-09-12 then the filter of start_date<1930 should handle this using the date fields in the obvious way.

this isn't a bug report it is a feature request. so i'm not sure why the bug reporting elements are required.

Because:
- I cannot reproduce.
- I don't know which actions you are performing.
- I don't know the expected and actual results after those actions.
- I don't know the JOSM version you're using.
We do not ask those questions without reason.
