Okay maybe I worded my thing incorrectly I meant in the same way that the validator says that cycleways should have segregated yes/no

Only 33% of amenity=post_box
have collection_times=
set according to https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/amenity=post_box#combinations
We cannot add a validation warning, but maybe a validation notice (which is not reported by default).

I don't think that we should produce warnings or informations for everything that might be added to a main tag. The user probably doesn't have the information when working with JOSM. Apps like StreetComplete(1) are proably the better place to ask those additional tags.

Hmm, I would disagree with this.
Typically, I would just deposit my mail in a post_box without knowing if it'll be emptied today or tomorrow.
Also, typically I add them to the map based upon a distant observation while moving. Forcing this key would force me to either stop and have a close look, or to just ignore them.
