JOSM gives false positive warning on public_transport:version=* on a relation with type=route

The JOSM valiation tool keeps warning that public_transport:version=* needs to be specified even though the public transport routes I am checking have this tag already. The version is from Debian testing 1.5.svn15238.

There is a problem with your preset file: java.nio.file.NoSuchFileException: /usr/share/josm/data/defaultpresets.xml

Please go to the settings: wiki:Help/Preferences/Map#TaggingPresets remove /usr/share/josm/data/defaultpresets.xml in the right list and add Internal Preset from the left list.

In case that does not work (Debian does file installation different to default josm release) I suggest to reinstall josm and/or reset preferences.
