How do you launch JOSM? Default configuration allocates 2 Gb but it seems only 1 Gb was allocated.

I Launch JOSM standard by a shortcut on my "taakbalk" (I don't the English word for it) Any idea how I can allocate more mem to JOSM>

sorry. Is there a world outside Windows> :-)
I use the Windows app
this is what programs says : C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=https://josm.openstreetmap.de/download/josm.jnlp "C:\Users\Frans\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\56\1ee8cfb8-28383610"

OK so you're not using the Windows App, but WebStart, with a 32-bit JRE.
You should uninstall your version of Java, reinstall the 64-bit version and try again.
