Size estimates very wrong

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Select a download area with St. Jean Pied-de-Port upper right, Pamplona lower left.
  2. Note it says size OK.
  3. Click download
  4. Select one-quarter of that size and try again.

What is the expected result?

Downloads data

What happens instead?

"Too large" in both cases

The problem here is not the area but the number of objects: You requested too many nodes (limit is 50000)
I guess that JOSM can't know beforehand how many objects there are in a specific area.

Resolution: → wontfix
Status: new → closed

We can only check the area size limitation. We can't check the node count limits.

Set your email in Preferences
Action
as closed The owner will remain team.
as The resolution will be set.
The resolution will be deleted. Next status will be 'reopened'.

Add Comment
E-mail address and name can be saved in the Preferences .
