#12869 closed enhancement (wontfix)

Validation of the multipolygon relations is wihout explanation

Reported by: openstreetmap.org-user-d1g Owned by: team
Priority: trivial Milestone:
Component: Core Version:
Keywords: multipolygons Cc:

Description (last modified by openstreetmap.org-user-d1g)

Interface of circular links is not intuitive (not found in other editors).

ATM there is no help text or pop-up that says "discontinued circles are wrong" or "lines are wrong"

"Please make sure that lines in the 3rd column are continuous make circles after your edits"

As you can see at Help/Dialog/RelationEditor 3rd column is unnamed.

Additional hover hint would help.

Simple red/green colouring of this column would be more intuitive than circular lines. But we can keep lines to avoid big changes.

I've never thought about this display as a validation. In fact, when you sort the members of a valid mp you should see circles in that column, but the order is not required to make it valid. Do you want the relation editor dialog to sort the members if they are not in the wanted order? This would change the relation data, so I would not want that.
