    3 For that purpose it would be handy to have offline maps available. Mapsforge provides a Java library to render Mapsforge maps (and it's not limited to Android anymore). There is also a sample application available that demonstrates the integration in Java programs.

    55Although I used Mapsforge before, I have no idea how to integrate it into JOSM (as a plugin).
