from starting I am not able to to have any Layers of osm data only gps points, notes and elevations [layers only] after trying to load from the internet or via a file loaded from the hard drive the downloading dialogs seem to show no problems.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. just load with the presets listed on MS-win 7
2. try to load any data of osm map points and ways etc.

Installing ALL the plugins is not a good idea. You probably have a conflict between two of them. Can you please try to uninstall all the plugins you don't need?
