I really don't know, but I don't think so. I'm really kind of a noob with the app (and the GIS world). Before the upgrade of Yosemite, JRE and JOSM, everything was. I delete all JOSM files and installed the new one from scratch, to assure the deletion of any properties or settings files.
How I know if I have any filter?

Hmm - working here with the same Yosemite and JDK 8u40 - I don't have this problem.
Have you tried to delete the folders in ~/Library/JOSM
~/Library/Caches/JOSM
and ~/Library/Preferences/JOSM
and restart JOSM? (Warning: Throws your settings in JOSM away!)

The issue was "solved" form me. For some reason the problem is the trackpad. If I use a mouse I can draw the nodes with the lines.
@Lesath - Do you use a mouse or the trackpad??

Please, open a new ticket including your status report and tell use what type of device you use (normal mouse, trackball, pen?). Thanks.
