Attempt to sort route roles in relation

Route relation may have many way with role "route". It is easier to maintain relation with these ways ordered, but it is tedious to do it manually.

It would be helpful to have a validator rule "segmentation of route roles in relation may be reduced", that would automatically sort route roles iff it is possible to reduce number of segments.

I guess, this ticket is still valid but I think I do not understand it completely. Am I right, that this ticket is not about supporting role route nor about sorting but about finding way members in route relations with empty role or route which could be combined to lower the number of members in the relations?

Maybe an example file would make it easier to understand.
