#7592 new enhancement

Implement a shortcut to switch between two sets of projection + imagery

Reported by: gamma.gts@… Owned by: team
Priority: normal Component: Core
Version: Keywords: projection imagery switch
Cc:

Description

The idea is to allow a quick change-over between two sources of imagery that do not share the same projection.

It is the case in France, where the principal sources are
Bing imagery with Mercator projection
Cadastre with Lambert conical projection.

Multiple switches are a bit painful with current interface, as it is necessary to modify projection in the parameters dialog.
Being able to select multiple combination of imagery layers and associated projection would be very helpfull.

I prefere an automatic reprojection with no need to change projection anymore (like merkaartor does), but meanwhile this would save quite some mouse clicks.

  • Component changed from unspecified to Core
  • Keywords switch added; cadastre removed
  • Priority changed from minor to normal

Auto reprojection seems like a more useful thing to me as well, but the ability to switch between two sources of imagery with a key would be nice as this would allow you to "blink compare" the two sources and look for changes between them.
