Directupload: unsaved edited gpx layers can't be uploaded

If I have a gpx layer converted from a EditGpx layer, but not saved to a file, directupload fails without any hints of the problem, except for a text line in the dialog changing to "upload failed".

After that, Directupload keeps telling me I don't have any gpx layers selected (even if I try to upload any of the regular non-edited gpx layers), until I save the edited gpx layer to a file - then everything works again.
