Shortcuts not working and crashes

Description

The keyboard no longer works in the newest versions of Josm (4878 and 4919). I can't delete anything or do things that involve shortcuts on the keyboard like orthaganalizing. It works fine from the menu though. Also, and I am not sure if this is related, after awhile while drawing ways with the way tool it will freze up, hang for about a minute and then JOSM completely shuts down. This never happened before the newest versions.
