Help/Action/JumpToPosition
v10 v17 1 1 TranslatedPages 2 = Jump to Position Dialog=2 = Status bar > Jump to Position = 3 3 4 Keyboard shortcut: {}4 JOSMImage(dialogs/position,link=,48,middle,margin-right=20) Shortcut key: **`Ctrl+J`** 5 5 6 Open the Jump to Position Dialog either by: 7 * pressing {} 8 * left click on the latitude or longitude in the [StatusBar status bar] 9 * use the [wiki:/Help/Menu/View Menu View] **([ExpertMode expert mode] only)** 6 This dialog allows to change the [wikitr:/Help/MapView MapView] extent by specifying coordinates. 10 7 11 By default the text boxes contain the values of the center of the current view. 8 The dialog is reached via the [wikitr:/Help/StatusBar status bar] by mouse click in the latitude or longitude fields. 9 Additionally via the [wikitr:/Help/Menu/View view menu] in JOSMImage(expert) [wikitr:/Help/ExpertMode expert mode]. 12 10 13 The coordinateformats `D M S` and `D M.M` are supported as well (since r8670).11 If an OpenStreetmap.org URL is present in the system clipboard, the coordinates are parsed. Otherwise, the center coordinates and the zoom level of the current MapView are pre-filled. 14 12 15 For example you can copy the URL to open that view in your web browser or vice versa copy the URL from your web browser to jump to that positionin JOSM.13 Image(JumpToPosition.png, link=) 16 14 17 Image(JumpToPosition.png) 15 Changes to the latitude/longitude/zoom fields update the displayed OpenStreetmap.org URL and vice versa. For example, you can copy the URL to open that view in your web browser or vice versa copy the URL from your web browser to jump to that position in JOSM. 16 17 == Jump to Place Name == 18 As an alternative to specifying coordinates (since r16402), a place name may be entered. OpenStreetMap's name finder Nominatim is queried and the MapView is changed to the first result. For ambiguous queries, make the query more specific, such as `Neustadt, Hesse` or `Neustadt, Kronstadt`. 19 20 Image(JumpToPositionPlace.png, link=) 21 22 == Rounding of Coordinates == 23 The coordinate is always shown with eight decimal places. 24 This equals to millimeter precision on the ground. 25 The zoom level is given as integer from `-1` to `30`. 26 This value is rounded from JOSMs internal zoom level which has fractions. 27 Constantly the URL field is updated with the other fields data to automatically form a valid OSM URL. 28 The coordinate formats Degree and Nautical are supported as well (since r8670). 18 29 19 30 ---- 20 Back to [wiki:/Help/MapView Map View]BR21 Back to [wiki:/Help/Menu/View Menu View]BR22 Back to [wiki :Help Main Help]31 Back to [wikitr:/Help/MapView MapView] \\ 32 Back to [wikitr:/Help/Menu/View View menu] \\ 33 Back to [wikitr:/Help Main Help]
