Help/Action/Download
v2 v3 11 11 * gps raw data, downloaded from the OpenStreetMap server. 12 12 13 * landsat image (if the landsatpluginisinstalled). Landsat images can only be downloaded once either osm or gps data for ant area has already been downloaded.13 The dialog has multiple tabs. The exact configuration of tabs may be dependent on plugins you have installed, but you will generally at least have: 14 14 15 * NPE (New Popular Edition - Ordnance Survey Map, for England) see[http://www.npemap.org.uk], (if the appropriate plugin is installed).15 * A bounding box tab where you can set the latitude/longitude bounds of the data to be downloaded, and also paste an URL from www.openstreetmap.org. To do this go to [http://www.openstreetmap.org/index.html the map] on the OpenStreetMap site, zoom in to the area you are interesrted in, move the mouse over the "view" tab, and copy the resulting URL. Then go to JOSM, and paste this URL into the "URL from www.openestreetmap.org" box. (In Windows to paste into the box, left click within the box, and then do CTRL+v) 16 16 17 * A bookmark tab where you can select from your predefined bookmarks, or make a new bookmark from the current bounding box. 17 18 18 The dialog allows to set the latitude/longitude bounds of the data to be downloaded. It's probably easiest to load some gps raw data from a file first as then, the bounds are set to the area of the raw data. 19 * A world map where you can select an area for download using the mouse. The map is not detailed enough to actually select a very small area, but you can use it in conjunction with the other tabs - e.g. first select a bookmark, then zoom in on the world map and select an area slightly different from the bookmark area. The world map can be zoomed and panned just like the normal map display! 19 20 20 Alternatively you can paste a URL from www.openstreetmap.org. (In Windows to paste into the box, left click within the box, and then do CTRL+v) 21 The bounding box tab will also display a warning if the selected area is too large for the server and will likely be answered with an error message. (You can try, though!) 22 23 When the download dialog is called up with data already loaded, all fields are set to the currently visible bounding box. Thus a common use scenario is to first load your GPS track from a GPX file, then zoom the view so that the portion you wish to work on is fully visible, and then call up the download dialog which will reflect the visible area. 21 24 22 25 Back to [wiki:Help Main Help]
