Description
key-press 3 on node goes down to around 6 meter - I'm finding this behavior so annoying that I reverted to josm version 6502. Micro map editors mapping benches and gullies in cities might love this new setting but not macro map editors editing tracks in the countryside. I don't know about others but I'm using key-press 3 on nodes a lot when zooming in and out in an area.
Therefore I'd like to possibly have a new setting where the zoom behavior could be set individually. In my eyes 2 options would be enough: 6 meters and 72.

Especially in areas where only Mapbox Satellite imagery is available (example: https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=17/39.21109/35.00686) it's most annoying to always have to use the mouse-wheel to zoom back out to a level (54-73 meters) where the imagery starts to show up. In such cases key '3' is useless at all.

Thought there was some calculation of data density to define the zoom level but maybe it is only use for validator.
I rather prefer to have to scroll out than in as it is easier once you know the spot of interest.
Regarding the imagery you could disable auto_zoom or/and auto_(re)load.

My subject is only related to key-press 3 - no auto-zoom or auto-whatever. For years it zoomed to around 73 meters (on the scale) when pressing key '3' on a node... I'd just would like to have a customizable setting - something like zoom.keypress3=73 or similar under josm's Advanced Settings.

Yes, that's what we are talking about.
For years it zoomed to around 73 meters (on the scale) when pressing key '3' on a node...
Which made it pretty useless in a densely mapped area.

Being a micro mapper myself, can you please attach a sample file demonstrating this problem ? Thanks.
