Notify about unread messages send via OSM message system

Description

Currently the only way to check whatever I received message from other users is is to log in on OSM website (I am not using it) or via e-mail (tends to arrive when I am busy with things more important than OSM).

I would prefer to receive notification about messages - or even read and reply using OSM editor (=JSOM).

I think that it would be welcomed by a typical user and improve communication with people, especially ones that registered using their rarely checked e-mail.
